Medical calls surge
Canfield
The emergency medical service at the fair treated 202 people Saturday.
Andy Frost, fair board member and Austintown fire chief, said the medics had 33 cart runs Saturday, but only eight people needed to be taken from the fairgrounds to the hospital.
Frost said one positive effect of the hot weather is that it seems to deter bees. Only 11 people were treated for bee stings Saturday.
