Three Valley residents killed in traffic accidents Saturday

Three Mahoning Valley residents were killed in separate traffic accidents Saturday.

A woman died after her Chevrolet Blazer left Hubbard-Bedford Road and hit a barn, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol report.

Diane Adamson, 63, of Hubbard was westbound around 3:15 p.m. Saturday when the accident happened.

An ambulance took her to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead, the patrol said. They are still investigating the crash.

A 62-year-old East Liverpool man was killed while traveling eastbound on Columbiana Couty Route 419 2.5 miles east of state Route 154 on Elkrun Township at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Nelson W. Hawkinberry of East Liverpool was killed when his motorcycle went off the right side of the road and crashed into a fence.

Hawkinberry’s death is the fourth motorcycle fatality in the Valley over the past week.

Earlier Saturday at about 1:15 a.m., a Lowellville man was struck and killed by a motorist on U.S. Route 224 .

Paul P. Macejko, 56, a tow-truck operator who owns Macejko’s Service Station and Towing on State Street in Struthers, was clearing glass from a wreck off the road when he was struck by a car driven by Brandon P. Porter, 27, of Boardman, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Mahoning County coroner’s office pronounced Macejko dead at the scene.
