SENIOR CITIZENS


55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Hostesses are Vera Fry and Phyllis Matasic. After the meeting and card games, members will dine out.

Ajax Magnethermic Retirees and their spouses will meet at 5 p.m. Friday at the Ajax-Tocco picnic grounds on Overland Avenue in Warren.

Freetimers will have their monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s Restaurant, U.S. Route 224 in Boardman. All Youngstown State University retirees and their friends are welcome.

Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet Sept. 14 at Antone’s Banquet Center, 8578 Market St., Boardman. A social will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:45. The program will include the introduction of new retirees by Paul Rossi, information on AMBA benefits and a presentation from the Metro College at YSU Continuing Education by Melvin North. Canned goods, toiletries, paper products, school supplies, current magazines, paperbacks and children’s books will be collected. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Ruby Farkas will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. St. Joseph Goldenagers will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lyons Hall with Evelyn Menaldi presiding. Carol McClain will read the thought for the day, and reports will be given. Members will play cards and honor those with birthdays and anniversaries. There will be a 50-50 raffle, and cards will be sent to members who are sick. Take a sack lunch; refreshments will be served.

St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will have a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at the Great Hall with Laverne Cox presiding. Reservations are required by Wednesday; send a check for $8, payable to St. Nicholas Seniors, to Lora Opsitnik, 138 Iroquois St., Struthers, OH 44471. All seniors are welcome.

St. Rose Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Amen Corner for pizza and coffee.

Trumbull Memorial Hospital Retirees Club will have its luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 12 at Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. The program will be bingo. Dues for the coming year will be accepted. All TMH retirees are welcome. For reservations or more information, call Vivian Abram at 330-759-7147.
