Several Mill Creek Park parking lots closed Wednesday for resurfacing

YOUNGSTOWN — Multiple parking lots throughout Mill Creek Park will be temporarily closed for the MetroParks’ annual asphalt sealing and preventive maintenance project.

The work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, and continue for about two weeks. Lots will be closed for several days, and will reopen once vehicular traffic is permitted.

Several of the prominent lots scheduled for work include Volney Rogers Field (Glenwood Avenue lot), Pioneer Pavilion, Lanterman’s Mill area and Price Road parking lots. While the lots are closed, the facilities they support will remain open and accessible for public use.

Private rentals of cabins and pavilions will not be affected by this project. The public can call the MetroParks administrative office at 330-702-3000 for information.
