Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating traffic fatality in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A Lowellville man was struck and killed by a motorist on U.S. Route 224 at 1:12 a.m. today.

Paul P. Macejko, 56, a tow-truck operator who owns Macejko’s Service Station and Towing on State Street in Struthers, was clearing glass from a wreck off the road when he was struck by a car driven by Brandon P. Porter, 27, of Boardman, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Mahoning County coroner’s office pronounced Macejko dead at the scene.

Police said they are still investigating.
