YOUNGSTOWN

Three people are being held in the Mahoning County jail on bond ranging from $100,000 to $110,000 facing numerous charges after police said they found 10 stolen weapons in their vehicle.

Police received a call Thursday afternoon that three people in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Pennsylvania license plate were trying to sell guns in the city.

Officers saw a vehicle matching that description and pulled it over about 6:20 p.m. Thursday on McCartney Road, near Fincastle Lane, police said.

Officers found a “large cache of weapons in the rear” of the vehicle — seven shotguns and three rifles — as well as a “large knife,” a drill driver, a sharpening kit, two glass crack pipes, and hypodermic needles, according to a police report.

Police said the woman in the vehicle told officers the two men had burglarized a home in Enon Valley, Pa., earlier in the day.

An Enon Valley man told Pennsylvania State Police that he saw two men with firearms leaving the home of a neighbor in a black Jeep about 9:25 a.m., Youngstown police said.

The three people in the Jeep were arrested on multiple charges. They were arraigned Friday by Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. next Friday.

Bill Gray, 44, of Hilltop Drive in Enon Valley, who was driving the Jeep, is being held on $110,000 bond. Troy Hockenberry, 29, of Vista Lane in Ellwood City, Pa., is being held on $105,000 bond. Patricia A. Hunt, 48, of West Dennick Avenue, is being held on $100,000 bond.

All are charged with receiving stolen property, having weapons under disability and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Gray is charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and driving with a suspended license. Hockenberry is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and Hunt is also charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
