A benefit in memory of Kodi Brenner, who was killed Aug. 28 in a motorcycle accident, will be Tuesday at the Ice House Inn here.
Brenner, 20, of Masury, was killed while riding her motorcycle along state Route 82 in Vienna.
In Brenner’s honor, her friends and family have organized the benefit to coincide with Bike Night at the Ice House, 5516 W. Webb Road. The event starts at 7 p.m., and “I Ride for Kodi” wristbands will be on sale for $5 each, and patrons can bid at a silent auction.
The proceeds will go to the family and to establish a scholarship in Brenner’s name.
She played multiple sports for Brookfield High School and was the WKBN Channel 27 Student Athlete of the Week in 2009, according to a news release.
Brenner was also a member of National Honor Society, student council, was her class treasurer and a volunteer for Akron Children’s Hospital.
She was awarded an athletic scholarship at Marietta College, where she studied petroleum engineering, then transferred to Youngstown State University, and would have been a junior this fall.
