Fitch football shuttle services

Austintown Fitch is offering a free shuttle service for all home football games. The service will run from 6 to 10:30 p.m. with pick-up and drop-off at the west lot of Super Kmart at the corner of Raccoon Road and Mahoning Avenue. All fans are urged to take advantage of this free service.

Boys soccer defeats Warren Harding

The Fitch varsity boys soccer team beat Warren Harding 5-0. Trevor Yacavone scored two goals for the Falcons. Others scoring for Fitch were Nate Bowlen, Alex Smith and Shane Linton. Nick Sheely had three saves and Alex Smith, Vince Ortenzio and Mike Shaffer all had assists.

The junior varsity soccer team beat Warren Harding 2-0.

Girls golf team falls

The Fitch girls golf team lost to Lakeview 186-189 on Aug. 24. Rachel Williamson scored a team-best of 42 for Fitch. Others scoring for the Falcons were Maura Bianco (46), Caitlyn Cominksy (50) and Janell Verdream (51).

Girls soccer beats West Branch

The Fitch varsity girls soccer team beat West Branch 2-0 on Aug. 24. Emily Durina and Hanna Steinker each scored a goal. Juliana Figueroa and Elizabeth Mosier registered assists. Fitch’s Jessica Scott turned away 11 shots on goal.

The girls junior varsity team lost to West Branch 2-1. Scoring for the Falcons was Andrea Precurato, assisted by Krista Martin. Andrea Precurato and Casey Infante had a total of six savesin goal.

Fitch girls tennis team loses to Liberty

The Fitch girls tennis team lost to Liberty 3-2 in a match on Aug. 24. The Falcons swept the doubles matches with Nicole Wenick and Breanna Barto winning 6-0, 6-2, and Angela Murphy and Emily Wirtz winning 6-0, 6-1. Losing in singles matches were Ashley Hanuschak (6-1, 6-1), Katie Klepec (6-4, 6-0) and Emily Fisher (6-1, 7-5).

Fitch girls cross country places third

The Fitch girls gross country team placed third at a meet against Poland, Struthers, Lordstown and Mooney on Aug. 23. Placing first overall was Carissa Jenkins with a time of 20:16. Amanda Choma placed eighth out of 61 runners with a time of 23:54.

Fitch boys golf team loses to Poland

The Fitch boys golf team lost to Poland 158-160. Brian Basista scored a team-best 36. Others scoring for the Falcons were Adam Catauro (39), Matt Matasy (41) and Pat Rovnak (44).

Fitch boys soccer beats West Branch

The Fitch varsity boys soccer team beat West Branch 8-0 on Aug. 23. Scoring two goals each were Nate Bowlen and Trevor Yacovone. Alex Smith and Chase Bartlett each registered two assists.

Girls golf squad falls to Canfield

The Fitch girls golf team lost to Canfield 188-151 on Aug. 23. Shooting a team-best of 40 was Rachel Williamson. Others scoring for the Falcons were Maura Bianco (47), Caitlyn Cominsky (49) and Jamie Rasor (52).

Fitch football tickets on sale

Individual ticket prices for the 2011 season are $7 reserved, $6 general admission and $4 student (presale only).

Those interested may also mail a season ticket request form with a self-addressed stamped envelope to 4560 Falcon Drive, Austintown, OH 44515 and we’ll mail your tickets directly to you.

Season tickets on sale for YSU football

Youngstown State football season tickets are on sale.

General admission seats are located in sections 1 and 7 of the west stands.

YSU plays six home games this fall with the opener on Sept. 10.
