Youngstown policeman treated for dog bite

Youngstown

A Youngstown police officer was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center after being bitten by a pit bull.

Police were called Thursday afternoon to a Pointview Avenue home on the South Side, by Kelly Neff, 49, who alleged her boyfriend had taken her purse.

After officers arrived, Neff’s 51-year-old boyfriend and his daughter approached the residence. During a verbal argument, Neff attacked the minor child, and as the officer tried to break up the altercation, the dog bit him on the hand and the child on the arm. Rural Metro and the Mahoning County Dog Warden responded to the scene.

The father said he would take his daughter to the hospital to see if she needed treatment. Neff was transported to the Mahoning County jail.
