Danny Jimenez pitched six solid innings and Jake Lowery had three hits, including a home run, to lead the Mahoning Valley Scrappers to an 8-3 victory over the Williamsport Crosscutters in a New York-Penn League baseball game on Thursday night.

The win, in the Scrappers’ final home game of the season at Eastwood Field, came one night after Mahoning Valley was eliminated from the Pinckney Division and wild-card races.

Lowery’s night started with a RBI single in the first inning to give the Scrappers a 1-0 lead.

In the third, Lowery greeted Williamsport reliever Casey Barnes with a two-run bomb to right-center, scoring Bryson Myles, who led off the inning with a walk.

The Scrappers led 4-0 after the inning — Alex Lavisky later scored after drawing a two-out walk — and extended their advantage with two runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

All of that support made a winner out of Jimenez (4-3), who allowed four hits and two earned runs in six innings. He struck out three and walked a pair.

Cody Anderson, Josh McKeon and Tony Dischler finished out of the Mahoning Valley bullpen.

Myles added a pair of hits for the Scrappers, including a double. Lavisky also hit a double.

Williamsport leadoff hitter Peter Lavin had a pair of singles, while Kyrell Hudson and Taylor Black both had doubles.

In the Scrappers sixth, Aaron Siliga and Myles had RBI singles. In the seventh, Lavisky drove in two with his double. Lowery opened the inning with a single and Todd Hankins walked before Lavisky’s hit drove both of them across the plate.
