WARREN
Adam S. Hendrickson, 34, of Myrtle Avenue, Champion Township, was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday for injuring a motorcyclist July 10, 2010, while he was driving drunk.
Hendrickson was northbound on Templeton Road and attempted to cross U.S. Route 422 in Warren Township.
He failed to yield to a northwest-bound motorcycle on Route 422 driven by Steven M. Schultz, 26, of Newbury, causing a crash that caused Schultz serious physical injuries.
Hendrickson left the scene, but witnesses gave police Hendrickson’s license plate number, allowing them to find him a short time later at his house, said Mike Burnett, an assistant Trumbull County prosecutor.
Hendrickson’s blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.295, close to four times the legal limit of 0.08.
Hendrickson pleaded guilty Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular assault and failure to stop after an accident.
Judge John M. Stuard sentenced Hendrickson to two years on the vehicular assault and one year for leaving the scene.
