Attendance rises on opening day

CANFIELD

Attendance was up on the opening day of the Canfield Fair.

Timm Schreiber, fair board member, said 24,693 people came through the gates on Wednesday. In 2010, that number was 22,843.

Schreiber credited the reduced Wednesday admission prices for seniors and adults.

“People are taking advantage of it,” he said.

Heavy rains could keep Thursday numbers down, however, he said.

“We had a slow morning,” Schreiber said.
