A seven-session beginning adults-only yoga class is offered on Mondays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 31, at St. Joseph Health Center, 667 Eastland Ave. SE, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Dawn Perhacs is the instructor. The cost is $58 for the general public and $44 for Humility of Mary Health Partners employees.

Free screening

YOUNGSTOWN

Women’s Health Night, sponsored by the St. Elizabeth Breast Care Advisory Board, is offering a free health screening and mammogram for women age 40 to 64 who are underinsured or uninsured and who do not have a history of breast cancer. The event is from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center Breast Care Center, 1044 Belmont Ave. Registration is required by Sept. 15. Call 330-480-3151 or 1-877-700-4647.

Heart walk planned

YOUNGSTOWN

The 2011 American Heart Association Walk is Sept. 17 at the Watson and Tressel Training Site at Youngstown State University. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the walk begins at 10:10.

There will be health screenings, educational information and activities for children.

Wesley Prout, president of Prout Boiler Heating and Welding, is walk chairman. Participants will include 7-year-old Alyson Smith, the 2011 Youngstown Area Heart Walk Heart Child, and her family.

Sponsors include St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Center, ValleyCare Health System, Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley — The Heart Center, Boardman Medical Supply, Prout Boiler and Warren Fabricating. Adult CPR classes

The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is offering Adult CPR classes at its Warren facility at 661 Mahoning Ave. NW, and Boardman office at 8381 Market St. The cost is $70. Classes are from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The dates and locations are: Wednesday and Sept. 21, Warren; and Sept. 14, Boardman.

Trumbull County residents over 60 can attend the Warren offering for free because of a Senior Levy grant. Paid preregistration is required three days in advance of the class; call 877-519-5967.

Bike events planned

BOARDMAN

The Western Reserve Building and Construction Trades is having its first Motorcycle Bike Run on Sept. 10 to benefit the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Plumber and Pipefitters Local 396, 493 Bev Road, Building 3, Boardman. The first bike out is at 11 a.m., and the last bike in is at 3 p.m. For preregistration and more information, call Tara Mady at 330-746-8494.

The 100-mile Poker Run starts and finishes at the Plumber and Pipefitters Local 396 with stops at Faces Lounge in Newton Falls, Ben’s Restaurant and Bar on U.S. Route 224 at Berlin Lake and Marks Landing at Guilford Lake. There also will be a basket auction and 50/50 raffle.

The cost is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. The first 100 riders to register will receive a T-shirt.

Donations of school supplies also will be accepted as part of the United Way Stuff the Bus project.
