Reception marks 50th anniversary of the Carbones

John and Joanne Carbone of Struthers marked the 50th anniversary of their wedding at a buffet reception by invitation at the Elm Tree.

Hosts of the celebration were their family. The Carbones’ children are Christina Anderson of Mesa, Ariz.; John Carbone of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Elizabeth Carbone of Lowellville. The Carbones also have three grandchildren.

Mrs. Carbone, who is the former Joanne Wasko, and Mr. Carbone were married Nov. 4, 1961, at St. Nicholas Church.

Mrs. Carbone retired in 2003. She had worked in the bakery at Giant Eagle in Boardman.

Mr. Carbone retired in 2005. He was a machine operator at Buckeye Extrusion Tool and Die and United Engineering. He is a member of Struthers Gridiron Club.

The couple belong to St. Nicholas Church.
