YOUNGSTOWN

Pamela Walko of Canfield and Dr. Zachary Veres of Champion were united in marriage June 11 during a ceremony at St. Columba Cathedral.

The Revs. John E. Keehner and John Temple officiated at the afternoon wedding, and a reception took place at the Avalon Golf and Country Club at Buhl Park in Sharon, Pa.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Walko of Canfield and Thomas E. Walko of Findlay. The groom is the son of Dr. Frank and Mrs. Tricia Veres of Champion.

The bride wore a white strapless A-line gown, which featured crossover pleating throughout the bodice and a left-hip detail with a Swarovski crystal and pearl motif.

Her attendants, in champagne gowns, were her cousin, Jill Ulbricht, who was maid of honor, along with bridesmaids Jennifer Houser, Maria Palazzo, Crissy Antal, Katelyn Esposito and Julie Walko, her sister-in-law. Adeline Judson, Meredith Judson and Ava Hiland, all nieces of the groom, were flower girls.

Best man was the groom’s cousin, Brady Tesner. Groomsmen were Shawnn Wilson, Nathan Mailach, Steve Winans, Dr. Vincent Marino and Nick Walko, the bride’s brother. Ushers were the groom’s brothers-in-law Ward Judson and Mark Hiland. Cody Ulbricht and Cade Ulbricht, the bride’s cousins, and Bryce Judson, the groom’s nephew, were ring bearers.

The bride is a nurse in the post-anesthesia-care unit at the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Youngstown State University and a master’s in nursing from Kent State University.

The groom is associated with his father in a private practice in family medicine in Warren. He is a graduate of YSU and the A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. He completed a family-practice residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

After a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple are making their home in Howland.
