The outdoor patio and gardens of Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights was the setting for the wedding ceremony of Max Altman and Katherine Steiner, both of Matthews, N.C.

The groom is the son of Neil and Denise Altman of Youngstown, and the bride is the daughter of Karen Rothman of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Gerry Steiner of Maumee, Ohio.

The ceremony, performed by Rabbi Susan Stone, took place July 3. A reception followed in the Lander Room at Landerhaven.

Wearing a black dress with blue sash was Jenni Salminen, the maid of honor. David Sloan was best man.

The groom graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in secondary education and math. The bride is a graduate of Macalester College with a double major in theater/drama and English. Both teach at Queens Grant Preparatory High School in Mint, N.C.

After a wedding trip to Europe, the newlyweds are living in Matthews.
