Trumbull County Educational Service Center presented plaques to the principals of Trumbull County school buildings that received a rating of Excellent with Distinction or Excellent on the 2010-11 state report card.

“These principals have been instrumental in leading the educational efforts of their buildings,” said Michael Hanshaw, superintendent of the Trumbull County ESC. “TCESC is happy to acknowledge the outstanding academic achievements of the students in these buildings and the efforts of all the educators involved in achieving this success.”

The following school buildings received an Excellent with Distinction rating on the 2010-11 report card: Badger Elementary, Champion Middle, McDonald High, Howland Mines Elementary and Newton Falls Middle.

The following school buildings received an Excellent rating on the 2010-11 report card: Bloomfield High, Mesopotamia Elementary, Bristol Elementary, Brookfield Elementary, Brookfield High, Champion Central Elementary, Champion High, Girard Sr. High, Girard Prospect Elementary, Howland High, Howland Middle, Howland North Road Elementary, Hubbard High, Hubbard Roosevelt Elementary, Badger High, Badger Middle, LaBrae High, Lakeview Elementary, Lakeview High, Lakeview Middle, Liberty E.J. Blott Elementary, Lordstown Elementary, Lordstown High, Maplewood Elementary, Maplewood High, Maplewood Middle, Mathews Baker Elementary, Mathews High, McDonald Roosevelt Elementary, Newton Falls High, Newton Falls Junior High, Southington Chalker High, Weathersfield Mineral Ridge High and Weathersfield’s Seaborn Elementary.

TCESC provides educational leadership and instruction in the areas of curriculum development, special education and technology. The center employs more than 200 teachers, therapists, psychologists and other specialists who work directly with approximately 3,500 students in 20 school districts.

The center also conducts professional-growth seminars for about 2,000 teachers each year. Serving as a link between the Ohio Department of Education and the schools, TCESC works in conjunction with the school districts to provide programs that promote the highest levels of learning for children in Trumbull County.
