ALTERNATIVE

Austintown: Halloween party at Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road, from 2 to 5 p.m. today. No scary costumes. Adults are welcome to dress up, too. Free food, games and crafts. Open to children of all ages.

Boardman: F5RS, a small-pet rescue and sanctuary, will host “Little Monsters Halloween Spooktacular” from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Petco, 317 Boardman-Poland Road. A small- animal-costume contest will take place at 1:30. There will be treats, activities and prizes.

Canfield: The St. Michael Scholarship Fund organization will host a Spooktacular Auction at 6 p.m. today at the Family Life Center, 240 N. Broad St. The event will feature games and silent and live auctions, and $10 per person will provide access to food, drinks, and a bidding number. All funds raised at the event will benefit youth scholarships. Costumes are encouraged. To reserve tables of eight or more, contact Cheryl Love at 330-533-8831.

Hubbard: Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road, will have trunk or treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday for children through sixth grade. Children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Lordstown: Harvest Point Church, 6100 Tod Ave., will sponsor trunks of treats from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Rain or shine, this event features face painting, the famous “Man Eating Chicken,” costumes and food.

Mineral Ridge: Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, 3911 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will sponsor a trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with candy, food and beverages.

Warren: Warren Police Department and the JAMZ 101.9 Van on-air personalities, T-Luv and Jammin’ Janay, will distribute Halloween candy in the underprivileged areas of Warren from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
