Search for missing Va. autistic boy enters 6th day

DOSWELL, Va. (AP) — Hundreds of volunteers are searching an autistic boy who has been missing for six days in Virginia.

Eight-year-old Robert Wood Jr. has been missing since Sunday during a walk with his family in North Anna Battlefield Park in Hanover County north of Richmond.

The park is not fenced in and officials worry Robert could have wandered off the property.

His parents say Robert is severely autistic and cannot speak. The blond, blue-eyed boy was last seen wearing a red, long-sleeved T-shirt, blue athletic pants and blue shoes.

The search continued today with about 350 people joining the search. They are working under the direction of trained search-and-rescue teams.
