Autumn fun came to Lloyd Elementary on Oct. 7, as the school’s PTA hosted its annual Fall Festival for Lloyd students, staff and parents.
Fall colors dotted Lloyd’s front lawn, where the PTA sold mums, corn stalks, pumpkins, hay bales and seasonal goods. A variety of cupcakes and cookies also greeted guests at the event.
“The fall fest is one of our most important fundraising activities throughout the year,” said event chair Nicole Cain.
“This year, the funds raised will help pay for holiday room parties and educational programs like COSI visits. Additionally, we’re raising money for the new elementary schools, where some gifts will have to be provided by PTAs. We are planning to provide rubber cushioning to be used in the new school’s playground,” explained Cain.
Throughout the day, parents and community members roamed through the tents to shop through the selection of goods, while Lloyd classrooms were allowed through the tents one class at a time.
Students offered saved nickels, dimes and quarters for piles of treats, which they were allowed to eat only after school was over.
