High tea set at historic house

AUSTINTOWN

A Christmas Tea, the 20th such annual event sponsored by the Austintown Historical Society, will take place Nov. 13 at a National Historic Landmark, the Strock Stone House, 7171 Mahoning Ave.

Seatings are that day only at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Reservations are a must for this public event and must be made before Nov. 4. The cost is $14 per person or $7 for children under 12.

Coffees and a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and other items that are traditionally part of a high tea will be served. Bone china cups, saucers and dessert plates will top the lace tablecloths. After each seating, free tours of the house will be conducted.

A basket raffle also will be featured at a cost of one ticket for $1, five for $3 and 15 for $5. The winner need not be present.

Make checks payable to the Austintown Historical Society and mail to the society at 1181 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown OH 44515. All proceeds benefit the society.
