Happy 125th Birthday to the Statue of Liberty

Today is the 125th birthday of one of America's most-treasured monuments — the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

The sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor was designed by Frédéric Bartholdi and dedicated Oct. 28, 1886. The statue was a gift to the United States from the people of France.
