Meadville publisher tabbed to head Sharon Herald newspaper

SHARON, Pa. (AP) — The new publisher of The Herald newspaper in Sharon is a woman who headed another western Pennsylvania newspaper owned by the same chain.

The Herald reports today that Sharon Sorg has left as publisher of the Meadville Tribune to take the same position in Sharon.

Sorg is replacing John Lima who retired earlier this month as publisher of The Herald, which is based near the Ohio border, about 60 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Lima had been Sharon’s publisher since 1993.

Both papers are owned by Montgomery, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., along with the New Castle News.

James Galantis, who had been director of advertising at the Meadville Tribune, is replacing Sorg as publisher there.

Sorg previously worked at The Herald from 1987 until she became publisher in Meadville in 2007.
