Mahoning County elections board open this weekend for early voting

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Board of Elections will be opened this weekend to allow early voting.

This is being done because of a change in the law this year that cuts off early voting at 6 p.m. Nov. 4, the Friday before the general election. Previously, the deadline for early voting was the close of business the Monday before the general election.

To accommodate weekend early voters, Mahoning’s office at Oakhill Renaissance Place on Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

In Trumbull County, the board of elections is typically open on the two Saturday’s before an election. The board, located at 2947 Youngstown Road SE in Warren, will be open for early voting from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, but closed Nov. 5, the Saturday before the election.
