Mahoning commissioners award sewer contract
YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County commissioners awarded the more than $1 million Riblett Road sanitary sewer installation project to DiGioia Suburban Excavating LLC of Cleveland.
The project, awarded today, will be paid for through a $492,276 Ohio Public Works Commission loan and a $570,000 federal Community Development Block Grant award, with the remainder coming from local sewer fees.
The 7,560-foot gravity sewer, which is expected to be ready for use next spring, will serve about 50 Austintown homes and flow to the Youngstown sewage treatment plant, said J. Robert Lyden, county sanitary engineer.
