Boardman YMCA offers lifeguard classes next month

BOARDMAN — The D.D. & Velma Davis Family YMCA is offering lifeguard classes to area teens and young adults.

The course runs from Tuesday through Nov. 22, and will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the McClurg Road facility.

Participants must be at least 16 by Nov. 22, pass a swim-competency test and attend every class. Those who successfully complete the course will have the opportunity to interview for a lifeguard position with the Y. Fees for the program are $200.
