Boardman police looking for man who caused vandalism at car wash

BOARDMAN — Police are looking for the man who tried to pry open a car wash vacuum and then pulled the machine from its stone base.

An employee of Splash and Shine Auto Bath Car Wash, 869 E. Midlothian Blvd., told officers he reviewed security footage and saw that a man tried to break into the vacuum structure about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to records.

Police said when the man’s attempt to pry the vacuum failed, the man used his pickup truck to pull the machine from its base, damaging both the base and machine. Police said the man appeared to be in his 20s, clean shaven with short hair and wearing a baseball cap. The truck was a dark-colored regular cab Dodge pickup truck with empty ladder racks, reports state.
