U.S. Marshals arrested Youngstown fugitive Alfonda Madison on Tuesday in Buffalo, N.Y., where he had lived since disappearing early after a reported home invasion in early October.

Police charged Madison, 25, with three counts of aggravated robbery and with illegal possession of a firearm after he and a colleague reportedly broke into an East Side Youngstown home armed with a shotgun Oct. 11.

He also was the prosecution’s key witness in the Lorenza Barnette double-murder trial.

Dean Michael, the U.S. Marshals Task Force coordinator for the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, said Madison was arrested after two days of investigating.

“We worked closely with the Youngstown police and the U.S. Marshals office in Buffalo,” he said.

Madison, Michael said, was working in a warehouse Tuesday morning when authorities in Buffalo apprehended him.

He said Madison also was living in a residence but was not sure of the relationship Madison has with the person living in the home.

Madison will face a New York extradition hearing before being transported back to Youngstown, Michael said.
