BOOK SALES

Friends of Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., will have a book sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the former athletic building behind the library. A large selection of books, magazines, videos and DVDs will be for sale.

DANCES

Autumn Splendor square dance and line dancing will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at North Bloomfield Town Hall with professional caller Gene Hammand and line dance cuer Frankie Hammond. No experience needed. The hall is at the intersection of Routes 45 and 85. Admission is $5 for ages 10 and above and $4 for those 9 and under. Refreshments will be served. SALES

Heartland Christian School, Columbiana, is having a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at Custom Comfort Systems, 44725 state Route 14, Columbiana. All good used and new items will be accepted and may be dropped off at the same address on Nov. 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church) members of Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown, will have its 40th annual fall sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be clothing, household goods, books, toys, small appliances and tools. A $1.50 bag sale begins at 12:30 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS

North Bloomfield Historical Society is sponsoring a card-making party from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 in the North Bloomfield Town Hall, intersection of routes 45 and 87. The group will make 15 Christmas cards for a fee of $14, which includes supplies and refreshments. TRIPS

Girard K. of C. Ladies will sponsor a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh on Nov. 13. The bus will leave the city parking lot at 9 a.m. and return around 6 p.m. Cost is $30 with returns of $15 and $5. For reservations call 330-545-1393 or 330-545-0736.

Mineral Ridge Alumni Association Banquet Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino, Pittsburgh, on Nov. 16. The cost is $25 per person with bonuses of $15 for slots and $5 for food. Car parking and bus pickup will be at First Presbyterian Church, 3654 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. The bus will leave at 9:15 a.m. and return at about 6:30 p.m. Be at the site by 9 a.m. The cost must be paid to secure your reservation. United Community Education Department is sponsoring two bus trips. The first will be Nov. 12 to Ohio’s Amish Country. Stops will include downtown Berlin, a flea market in Walnut Creek and lunch at an Amish-style restaurant. The cost is $8 per person and does not include lunch. The second is to Prime Outlets in Grove City, Pa., on Nov. 19. The cost is $8 per person. On both trips the bus will leave United High School at 7:45 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Payment is due at the time of registration.
