Marching band in season recap

BOARDMAN

The 256-member Boardman Spartan Marching Band will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Boardman High School Gymnasium. This annual event is a retrospective of the 2011 season.

The band will be seated and playing all the music from the field shows while the Spartan Sweethearts, Silks, Twirlers and Drum Majors perform their visual routines on the gym floor.

There will be a reception in the cafeteria immediately following the concert. Admission is $3 ($2 for students, free for senior citizens).

The band started its performance season in August by performing at a Cleveland Indians baseball game. It also appeared at the Cleveland Browns vs. Seattle Seahawks game Sunday. In December, the band will perform at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Railroad seminar

Little Beaver Historical Society will sponsor the annual Pennsylvania Ohio Railroad seminar from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Market Street (Route 551). It will include a presentation on the Foxburg double deck railroad bridge that was recently demolished; Knox and Kane RR history; Kinzua Bridge; and the B&O’s tunnel hill route from Callery to Butler.
