Lions to dedicate tree to honor Jenkins

A tree-planting ceremony and plaque dedication will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday outside the office of Boardman Park to honor Lloyd “Bud” Jenkins, a 38-year Boardman Lions Club member, past president and past district governor.

An Ohio buckeye will be planted. The plaque below it will remind park visitors of Jenkins’ many years of service. In case of bad weather, the ceremony will move into the Georgeanna Parker Activity Room.

The Boardman Lions, a service club with emphasis on sight-related issues, also will be in the community on Nov. 23 on its White Cane Collection Day to raise funds.
