Lane acquires Anstrom-Velker Funeral Home

YOUNGSTOWN — Lane Funeral Homes, one of the 100 oldest family-owned businesses in the country, has acquired the Anstrom-Velker Funeral Home in Youngstown and plans to shift the home’s duties to a new location within the next two months.

Joseph D. Lane. president and CEO of Lane, a business that started in Mineral Ridge in 1855, said that within the next 60 days, the home will move to a new, to-be-determined location in Mahoning County.

Anstrom-Velker, 75 E. Midlothian Blvd., was established in 1970 by Bob Anstrom and was owned by brothers Doug and Greg Anstrom prior to the Lane purchase.

The brothers will continue managing the location, which will be renamed Lane Funeral Homes/Anstrom-Velker Chapel.
