Ohio 37, Akron 20
AKRON
Tyler Tettleton threw two touchdown passes, ran for a score and Ohio scored 20 unanswered points midway through the game. Tettleton was 21 of 29 for 328 yards with an interception and also had 23 rush yards for the Bobcats (5-3, 2-2 Mid-American Conference). Donte Harden added 123 rushing yards on 22 carries. With the score tied 3-3, Tettleton’s 78-yard pass to LaVon Brazill sparked 20 straight points for Ohio. He added a 36-yard pass to Riley Dunlop in the third quarter and a 1-yard run in the fourth. Clayton Moore threw for 125 yards and a touchdown for Akron (1-6, 0-3).
Toledo 49, Miami (Ohio) 28.
TOLEDO
Morgan Williams ran for two touchdowns to lead a balanced rushing attack in Toledo’s win. The Rockets (5-3, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) rushed for 269 of their 497 yards of offense, with three players going for more than 60 yards. Williams had 84 yards on 17 carries, Adonis Thomas added 80 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and David Fluellen 66 yards on 10 carries.
Bowling Green 13, Temple 10
BOWLING GREEN
Matt Schilz threw a 24-yard pass to Shaun Joplin with 7:41 left for Bowling Green’s only touchdown, which was enough. Both the game’s touchdowns came in the final quarter as Bernard Pierce’s 2-yard scoring run put Temple up for the first time, 10-6, with 11:02 to play. Less than four minutes later Schilz threw for 55 yards on a 56-yard Bowling Green (4-4, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) drive, including the game-winning TD.
Eastern Michigan 14, Western Michigan 10
YPSILANTI, MICH.
Javonti Greene caught a 50-yard pass from Alex Gillett in the first quarter and scored on a 50-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Greene was held to 61 yards in 13 carries for the game, but broke loose for the 50-yard run with 7:46 to play, putting the Eagles (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American) ahead 14-10.
Northern Illinois 31 Buffalo 30
BUFFALO, N.Y.
Chandler Harnish gained 217 all-purpose yards in Northern Illinois’ win. Buffalo (2-6, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) rallied from a 31-10 deficit with 20 points in the fourth quarter, but a missed extra point by Peter Fardon with 14 seconds to play ended the Bulls’ comeback. Harnish, who finished with 150 passing yards on 11 of 26 attempts, also ran for 67 yards on 12 carries and his 6-yard touchdown run gave the Huskies a 17-10 halftime lead. Harnish moved into first place in career completions at Northern Illinois (5-3, 3-1).
Ball State 31, Central Michigan 27.
MUNCIE, IND.
Keith Wenning threw three touchdown passes, all in the second half as Ball State came back. The Cardinals (5-3, 3-1 Mid-American) trailed 20-3 early in the third quarter, but Wenning found Briggs Orsbon for a 28-yard touchdown and Aaron Mershman for a 2-yard score sandwiched around Jahwan Edwards’ 1-yard run to give Ball State a 24-20 lead. Ryan Radcliff, who threw three TD passes for Central Michigan, hit Cody Wilson for a 10-yard score to put the Chippewas (2-6, 1-3) ahead 27-24 with 11:45 remaining. But it took just six plays for the Cardinals to score again, this time on Wenning’s 34-yard pass to Jamill Smith with 9:41 to go.
