YOUNGSTOWN

These people became U.S. citizens in a naturalization ceremony last week before Judge Mark A. Belinky of Mahoning County Probate Court.

Their names, hometowns and countries of origin are: Ahmed Hussein Abdulla Almuhandes, Boardman, Yemen; Tarah Althea Holness, Youngstown, Jamaica; Wei He, Boardman, People’s Republic of China; Eyad Alakrad, Youngstown, Syria; Hussein Muhammed Al-Muhandes, Boardman, Yemen.

Howland pickup

HOWLAND

The township’s fall limb and branch pickup will begin on the east side of the township Monday and continue through Nov. 4. The east side is all streets east of Mosquito Creek.

The west side pickup is Nov. 7-18 and includes North Road and all streets off North Road. The township leaf pickup also starts Monday. Leaves must be placed in paper biodegradable bags only.

Benefit for veteran

AUSTINTOWN

There is a Dessert Tasting Benefit for Michael Village, an Army veteran of the Gulf War, from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Austintown Aerie Eagles Club off Raccoon Road.

The family is facing many financial struggles because of Village’s many illnesses.
