NEO HealthForce will host a free Family Health Care Careers Open House from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St.
At the event, the NEO HealthForce and Eastern Ohio Area Health Education Center’s “Health Care Careers Exhibit” will be unveiled.
The event also will feature employment opportunities in the health-care field, information on health-care training programs and health screenings.
Children who attend are encouraged to dress up as health-care professionals. There will be refreshments and door prizes, and the first 75 children will receive a gift.

Driving service now in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN
Cleveland-based BeMyDesignatedDriver, or BeMyDD, has begun operations in Youngstown.
The service, which has the premise “We drive your car so you don’t have to,” is available for upcoming Halloween transportation needs.
BeMyDD offers two services. The personal-driver service, where customers can reserve a driver to pick them up at a specific location, costs between $12.50 and $15 an hour.
The pickup service, when two drivers pick up a customer (one to drive each car) on short notice, costs $25 plus mileage.

Builders association continues to grow

The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania has added two members: Ryan Grafton of Preston & Grafton Insurance Agency, in Pittsburgh, and Todd Williams, of Total Air Systems LLC, in Youngstown.
The Builders has nearly 150 regional organization members representing employers in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties in eastern Ohio, and Mercer and Lawrence counties in western Pennsylvania.
The Builders services 15 various skilled trades in the region and is an ongoing resource for union construction contractors.
Delphi retirees get hearing next month
DAYTON
U.S. Rep. Mike Turner has announced that Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa of California will have a hearing Nov. 14 in Dayton to receive testimony from Delphi salaried retirees.
The hearing requests stem from a decision by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., which resulted in about 15,000 salaried Delphi retirees taking cuts in their pension benefits.
It is the fifth hearing by Congress about the Delphi retirees.
