4 health fairs planned for veterans


NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Four upcoming health fairs for veterans will offer flu shots and health screenings.

A Veterans’ Flu Clinic and Health Fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level of the Lawrence County Government Center, 420 Court St.

Similar events are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Butler Healthcare, Primary Care Clinic, 325 New Castle Road, Butler; from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Michael A. Marzano VA Outpatient Clinic, 295 Kerrwood Drive, Suite 110, Hermitage; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at VFW Post 8106, 100 Monroe St., New Galilee.

The events offer health screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, body mass index, bone density and COPD. Veterans should bring their DD214’s to register for any Veterans Administration programs. Information about behavioral health care, Vietnam and Agent Orange issues and other VA programs will be available.
