Westminster College’s Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity will host “Phright Nights” from Wednesday to next Saturday to raise funds for two charitable causes.

The attraction is open to the public.

The annual haunted house is at 129 Waugh Ave. in New Wilmington. Hours of operation are 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 8 p.m. to midnight Friday and next Saturday.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. Proceeds will benefit the fraternity’s philanthropy, The Livestrong Foundation, and the family of an infant requiring surgery for a rare brain disorder.

“This is a tradition that Alpha Sigma Phi has been hosting since its founding in 1939,” said Milt Constantine, a senior public- relations and political-science major who serves as the fraternity’s public-relations chair. “Last year, we raised more than $1,000 with great support from the campus and community. We hope to top that this year for two deserving recipients.”

Constantine is a son of Thomas and Vasiliki Constantine of Poland, and a graduate of Poland Seminary High School.

“Everyone who attends this haunted attraction should be ready for a good scare,” said Vince Vecchio, a junior history major and director of the event. “Parents should be aware that this may not be appropriate for small children.”

Vecchio is from Pittsburgh.
