Fall Park Fest
LIBERTY
Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church of Niles will host a free communitywide Fall Park Fest from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Center Park, Church Hill-Hubbard Road. The all-ages event will include free food, live music, balloons, inflatables, face painting, pumpkin decorating, prize giveaways and games.
Women’s weekend

The Women’s Ministry of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church will have a Women’s Weekend from Nov. 4-6 titled “Be Made Whole.” All services, seminars and a luncheon will take place at Mount Calvary, 1812 Oak Hill Ave. The cost of the luncheon is $20. Evangelization conference planned

Turning Our Hearts to Christ will be the theme of an Evangelization and Catechesis Conference on Nov. 5 at Little Flower Church, Middlebranch. Leisa Anslinger is the keynote speaker for this conference, sponsored by the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Religious Education. The breakout sessions include workshops by Anslinger, Monsignor Siffrin and local leaders of parish and school catechesis and evangelization.
Anslinger speaks nationally on lifelong catechesis and stewardship. She also is author of several books including “Here Comes Everybody! Whole Community Catechesis in the Parish” and “Great Expectations: Learn How to Coach Parents Effectively.”
Exhibitors include Catholic publishers, religious-goods stores, diocesan offices and the Work of Human Hands fair-trade program. The fair- trade products are handmade by artisans or grown by farmers living in developing regions around the world. The Work of Human Hands program, a partnership between Catholic Relief Services and A Greater Gift, is a nonprofit program of SERVV International, an alternative trade and development organization.
Harvest workshop
VILLA MARIA, Pa.
Villa Maria Education & Spirituality Center will offer a one-day workshop on the Humility and the Harvest from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 13. Guests will hear about the meaning of the harvest through the eyes of a farmer.
Presenters will be Sr. Barbara O’Donnell HM and Frank Romeo, who is director emeritus of land management at Villa Maria Community Center. He also is the director of the Lawrence County Conservation District and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture and the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association. Romeo is the author of “A History of the Land,” which chronicles the land-management practices of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.

The theme will be “The Power of Prayer.” Evangelist Martha E. Taylor of Metro Assembly of God will be guest speaker. Donation is $10.

Hats for soldiers

This year, the knitting groups of the Prayer Shawl Ministry of the Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor-Lloyd Road, the Western Reserve Knitting Guild and the Liberty Knitting Group knitted and crocheted more than 150 caps for U.S. servicemen and women. The caps will be presented to representatives of the Veterans Administration at the Youngstown VA Outpatient Clinic at noonTuesday. The items also will be distributed to veterans at the VA Hospital in Cleveland.

The Adult Religious Education Committee of Blessed John Paul II Parish will host a guest speaker, Mary Lou Beers, at 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at St. Pius X Church, 1401 Moncrest NW, Warren.
Her topic will be “Making Your Faith Alive and Active.“ She is on the staff of St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Willowick and has spoken at workshops and missions. She will share her story of coping with her husband’s debilitating disability.
After the program, refreshments and fellowship will be in the social hall.

Lecture on healing

“Healing on the Spiritual Path” will be the topic of a lecture at 7 p.m. Friday at Best Western Meander Inn, 870 N. Canfield-Niles Road, by Dr. B. Schliecker and J. Graf, both of Germany.
The free lecture was organized by Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, which records and verifies spiritul healings.
The speakers will discuss medically documented healings and testimonies concerning addiction, depression and anxiety.
