Womens’ volunteer organization hosts fall conference in Boardman

The General Federation of Women’s Club/OFWC Northeast District hosted its fall conference at the Holiday Inn, Boardman on Sept. 26.

The organization has a rich history in volunteering time and raising funds to help the needy in the district. Six junior clubs, one general club and two Federated clubs were represented at the meeting. Each year, one club in the district hosts the conference. The host club this year was the Youngstown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs, Inc., which is celebrating 100 years of GFWC affiliation.

The conference has the group’s officers travel to each of the five districts in Ohio to report on national awards won for Ohio programs and projects, news on what’s happening around the country and in Ohio, future dates and updates from the officers.
