Boardman preschool welcomes new administrator

Boardman United Methodist Preschool and Child Care Center (BUMP) has a new leader.

The nonprofit preschool and child care center, located just a block away from the Southern Park Mall at 6809 Market Street in Boardman, has tabbed Mandi Schaildone as its new administrator.

She has been with the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family services for six years and four years as a first-grade teacher at St. Brendan’s School.

Schaildone is looking forward to the chapter in her career.

“I’m so excited to be a part of this wonderful center. The staff is amazing and their love of children is commendable. I look forward to working with the children and their families and giving the students what’s best for them and for their future. I am honored to be a part of this amazing school,” Shaildone said.

She officially started working with BUMP on Oct. 10.

BUMP is already a Step Up to Quality award winner through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, but still expects to see some changes with Schaildone on board.

New initiatives Schaildone hopes to introduce to the center include community involvement, a healthy snack program, language classes, yoga and technological advances (in addition to the iTouches currently used centerwide).
