Banquet to honor volunteers

HandsOn Volunteer Network of the Valley will recognize the dedication of volunteers with the HandsOn Network Award, which it will present in a celebration Nov. 10 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. Tickets cost $27 per person, and the deadline to make reservations is Nov. 2. Call HOVN at 330-782-5877 or email a request to info@HOVN.org. A cash bar will be available to those 21 or older.

The award was established in 2004 to honor the efforts of local volunteers. Local organizations, the public and volunteers can nominate an individual or a group of people who show exceptional dedication to the community and want to improve it.

At the banquet, all nominees will be honored for their service, and award winners will be announced. The nominations are judged by a panel of community volunteers.

The 2011 HandsOn Corporate Partner Award Recipient is SenSource Inc., for its philosophy of giving back to the community.
