POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Oct. 13

Arrest: Police arrested a 16-year-old Girard boy who was released to the custody of his mother after they responded to a possible fight in the 100 block of Crumlin Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a residence in the 200 block of East Kline Street. The theft of copper and damage to the home came to about $5,000.

Theft: An Xbox system and video cables were stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Trumbull Avenue.

Oct. 14

Theft: A $400 go-cart was stolen from a yard in the 40 block of East Howard Street.

Menacing: A South Davis Street man reported receiving about five days’ worth of threatening and harassing calls.

Harassment: A Stonington Drive woman said she’s gotten numerous unwanted text, voice and online messages.

Theft: Two gold bracelets totaling $1,300 were taken from a residence in the 900 block of Dravis Street.

Theft: A 9mm handgun was removed from a home in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue.

Oct. 15

Menacing: A Niles woman visiting a friend on Louis Circle told police a man had followed her in his vehicle.

Oct. 17

Burglary: Occurred in the 600 block of Forsythe Avenue through the garage. A lawn mower and a gas can were missing.

LIBERTY

Oct. 13

Assault: Gabe Majors, 33, of 1650 Rockwood Drive, Youngstown, faced assault and aggravated-menacing charges after a disturbance on Tuttle Drive. A resident alleged an intoxicated Majors threatened to kill him and made a gesture indicating he had a firearm; another man alleged Majors had shoved him.

Drugs: Paul E. Weston II, 33, of 552 Miller St., Youngstown, was charged with possession of a drug-abuse instrument and driving under suspension. After pulling Weston over on state Route 304, police said, a device associated with marijuana use and with suspected marijuana residue was found.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Cleveland Auto Wrecking Inc., 2700 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, and stole 10 in-dash car stereos.

Oct. 14

Arrest: Officers picked up 36-year-old John L. Perkins, 36 Marla Lane, Girard, who was in the 10 block of Louise Lane. He was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Oct. 15

Drugs: Police on Hadley Drive issued a summons to 23-year-old Lakeila Clark, 3140 Neosho Road, Youngstown, after saying a suspected marijuana cigar was in her purse. Clark also was accused of driving under suspension.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 3000 block of North Gate Road broke a window to a pickup truck and damaged its steering column, apparently in an effort to steal the vehicle.

Theft: An AM/FM/compact-disc player and a woofer box were stolen from a car in the 10 block of Holly Drive.

Counterfeit: Someone used a fake $10 bill at the Sweepstakes Club, 4501 Belmont Ave.

Drugs: Police conducting a traffic stop in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue charged 30-year-old Daniel D. Villio with drug abuse and possession of dangerous drugs. Villio, of 74 E. Margaret Ave., Niles, had a bottle with a variety of tablets and an expired prescription, as well as a white powder that tested positive for cocaine, a report showed.

Oct. 16

Arrest: A vehicular accident in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue led to a charge of driving under the influence against 47-year-old Kelly J. Dawson of Belle Vernon, Pa.

Auto theft: A 1998 Buick Regal was stolen in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue.

Burglary: To a home in the 1700 block of Harding Avenue, from which a video-game console and a 50-inch flat-screen TV were removed.

Domestic violence: Dustin M. Anglin, 25, of 2614 Homestead Road, Liberty, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Anglin had punched her face and head during an argument, prompting her to seek treatment for her injuries.

Drugs: Brian L. Moore, 43, of 17 Holly Drive, Liberty, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving under suspension after having been pulled over on Belmont Avenue. A bag containing 9.5 grams of suspected marijuana was found, a report said.

Oct. 17

Arrest: Police responded to an erratic driver on state Route 193, then charged 36-year-old Antonio M. Wilson, 119 Monroe Ave., Campbell, with driving under the influence.

HUBBARD

Oct. 11

Criminal damaging: Two vehicles in the 500 block of West Liberty Street were found with smashed windows.

Oct. 12

Menacing: The principal of Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., told police a parent made a phone threat against another school official.

Oct. 13

Menacing: A man in the 100 block of West Liberty Street reported having been threatened and harassed.

Oct. 14

Possible attempted fraud: A West Park Avenue woman reported getting a letter claiming to be from a foreign lottery. She lost no money, however.

Breaking and entering: Items were taken from a residence in the 800 block of Elmwood Drive someone had entered.

Oct. 16

Recovered property: A small purse, a bag and a cellphone were found that belong to a Meadowland Drive woman.
