‘Ludmilla’ the Russian diva returns to Oakland

The Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., will turn its yearlong 25th anniversary celebration into a surprise party this weekend with the return of “Ludmilla,” the hilarious Russian diva portrayed by Alexandra Vansuch.

“Ludmilla and Friends,” a cabaret performance, will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Joining Ludmilla are some of the area’s most talented musical performers: Bernie Appugliese, Brendan Byers, Carla Gipson and Leah Ifft. Together, they will regale audiences with an array of love songs, Broadway show tunes, pop hits and Big Band favorites. The show is produced by Volga Productions.

Tickets for “Ludmilla and Friends” are $15 ($12 for seniors and $10 for students).
