Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at an ATM at Giant Eagle, 48 Vienna Ave. (state Route 46), at 8:36 p.m. Monday.

A woman reported that while using the machine, a black man ordered her to give up her money and then put a gun to her head.

The woman asked the robber if he was kidding, and the man said, “Just give it up.”

The man got away with an undetermined amount of cash and a personal check and fled on foot. The man was about 6 feet tall wearing a green hooded sweat shirt. As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrest had been made, police said.

From 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, children will be able to participate in an after-school event withhands-on activities highlighting Marie Curie’s methodology and discoveries.

At that time three winners will be drawn, each receiving a four-pack of free admission tickets to OH WOW! valued at $28.

The event is a collaboration between the Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle and the children’s center to commemorate Polish-American Heritage Month and honor the 100th anniversary of Curie’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The groups have created an exhibit they are calling Curious about Curie.
