St. E's in Youngstown begins renovation project

YOUNGSTOWN — St. Elizabeth Health Center has begun work on a $520,000, 2,000-square-foot renovation project.

The project, at the main St. E’s building, 1044 Belmont Ave., will expand the hospital’s pre-surgery and secondary recovery areas.

With the addition, that part of the hospital will now total 5,129 square feet.

The renovation was necessary to accommodate more patients, said Tina Creighton, spokeswoman for Humility of Mary Health Partners.

Creighton said money for the project came out of the capital-improvement fund; no grants or special funding was used.

Work is expected to be completed in early 2012.
