Figueroa acquitted today in murder trial

YOUNGSTOWN — A jury has acquitted David Figueroa in the fatal shooting of Emmanuel Izquierdo in the 100 block of North Lane Avenue on the city's East Side on April 21, 2010.

Figueroa, 28, of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, was acquitted of aggravated murder with a firearm specification this afternoon after the jury deliberated for a total of 6 1/2 hours Monday and today.

The trial was before Judge John M. Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
