AUCTIONS

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, is planning an auction beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. Baer Auctioneers Services will conduct the auction. Cash or checks accepted. The food stand will open at 4:30 p.m. Among items to be auctioned are furniture, tools, gift baskets, pies and a bicycle.

Salem Hills Ladies Association presents its annual silent auction, “It’s a Jungle Out There,” beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Salem Hills Country Club. Admission cost of $5 includes hors d’oeuvres and a beverage (cash bar available). Hand-crafted and other unique items will be auctioned, and there will be door prizes. St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., will have a basket auction Sunday. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the drawings will take place at 1 p.m. A television raffle and a 50-50 raffle are included. An admission ticket of $5 includes 20 auction tickets and a free refreshment. Lunch items, such as hot dogs, kielbasi and kraut, and sloppy joes, will be sold.

BAZAARS

Gustavus Federated Church will have a bazaar and dinner from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, just south of the intersection of Routes 87 and 193. The dinner will feature turkey and all the trimmings. Prices are $8 for adults, $3.50 for school-age children, and free for preschoolers. Carryouts will be available. The country store will be open in the church from 1 to 6 p.m. The church is handicap accessible from the west entrance.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

New Waterford Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Texas Hold’em Tournament Saturday at the New Waterford Eagles, 3614 Creek Road, New Waterford. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Presale tickets are $40 per person; $50 the day of the event. Tickets are available at Fire Force in Columbiana. There will be a 50-50 raffle, bake sale and cash games after the tournament. Food will be provided. $30 is good for $3,000 in chips; $50, for $5,000 in chips.

St. Patrick Altar Guild invites the public to a salad buffet/card party/bingo/game day from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Social Hall, Oak Hill Avenue, Youngstown. The event will include a special drawing and door prizes. Guests are asked to take their own cards. Tickets are $5 and are available from members, by calling the rectory at 330-743-1109 or at the door.

Women’s Auxiliary of Oblates will sponsor a card and bingo party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Casini Hall, 50 Warner Road, Hubbard. The cost is $6, which includes lunch. There will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle and door prizes. Tickets will be available at the door.

CRAFT SHOWS

Kayla Irene Daniels Cure for Cancer Foundation will host a free craft show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Parkman Community House, just east of Parkman Center on Route 422. Nearly 50 vendors are scheduled, and food and beverages will be available. For more information call 330-889-9600.

FUNDRAISERS

Campbell Memorial High School Alumni Association’s annual reverse raffle will be Sunday at Campbell Community Center in Roosevelt Park. Tickets are $100 per person. Protestant Family Service is sponsoring a Feast of Salads fundraiser with a fashion show and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. The doors will open at 10:30. NIGHTS AT RACES

TNR of Warren and Safe at Last Dog Rescue of Ohio will have a Night at the Races Nov. 5 at Knights of Columbus, 1947 E. Market St., Warren. Doors will open at 6 and the first race will be at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. There will also be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle, food and alcohol. Patrons must be 21 or over to enter. Proceeds will help the organizations save the dogs and cats of Trumbull and Mahoning County. SPECIAL EVENTS

Community Health Foundation will host its eighth annual Boo Ball on Friday at The Corinthian, 47 Vine Ave., Sharon. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Hern Brothers will entertain. Slovenian Home, 1037 Baldwin Ave., in Sharon, Pa., will host “Babushka Night” beginning at 6 p.m. Friday. There will be instructions to learn Slovenian folk dances. TRIPS

Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is sponsoring a bus trip to Cleveland for a show Nov. 20: the new Tony-award-winning 2010 Broadway production of the musical “La Cage Aux Folles.” The bus will leave the J at 11 a.m. and return at 8:30 p.m. Costs are $65 for members, $75 for nonmembers, and the price includes orchestra seat and transportation. Mineral Ridge Alumni Association Banquet Committee is sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino, Pittsburgh, on Nov. 16. The cost is $25 per person with bonuses of $15 for slots and $5 for food. Car parking and bus pickup will be at First Presbyterian Church, 3654 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. The bus will leave at 9:15 and return at about 6:30 p.m. Be at the site by 9 a.m. The cost must be paid to secure your reservation. Trumbull County Travel Club members and potential members are invited to take their ideas to the fall workshop to plan trips for 2012. The session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at Panera Bread on Elm road in Warren. Go to the room in the back of the restaurant. An excursion Feb. 11 to the Cleveland Home & Flower Show has been contracted for $46 per person, and a sign-up sheet will be available at the meeting. Three trips remain for the year: Nov. 2, five seats are available on the motor coach to see “Mom-ologues,” a comedy and luncheon at the Riverside Inn in Cambridge, Pa.; Nov. 29-Dec.1, Colonial Williamsburg; and Dec. 14, Christmas at the Inn is sold out, but a wait list is being made.
