Wireless company owner in Ohio pleads guilty to tax fraud

CINCINNATI (AP) — The owner of wireless companies in Ohio and Kentucky pleaded guilty to employment tax fraud for failing to collect and pay employment taxes to the Internal Revenue Service.

Federal prosecutors say 46-year-old Khalid Alnajar pleaded guilty today to one count of employment fraud in Cincinnati. The president and owner of Warsaw Wireless Inc. and Warsaw Wireless of Kentucky Inc. could get a maximum five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The companies operate wireless phone stores in southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky.

Authorities say Alnajar paid a substantial portion of managerial employees’ wages with unreported checks from 2004 through 2007 and information reported to the IRS did not reflect the true number of hours worked or amounts paid.
