Drug take-back

NEW SPRINGFIELD

Residents may bring potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs to a drug take-back program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Springfield Township Police Department, 3475 E. South Range Road.

The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

The initiative, which is part of a nationwide Drug Enforcement Administration effort, addresses the danger of medicines in home cabinets, which are susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse.

It also addresses the health issue posed when medications are flushed down the toilet or thrown in the trash.
