The National Drive, which has taken place each year since 2005, has drawn enthusiasts in recreational equine driving from all over the country to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

It is known as the largest single gathering of recreational equine drivers.

Horses of all types and sizes in just about every type of horse-drawn vehicle can be viewed at the drive, which usually is in early October and lasts from dusk to dawn each of the six days.

This year’s event was Oct. 4-9.

Every size of horse and carts, both two- and four-wheel types, tour the expansive horse park, which covers more than 1,000 acres.

The park is a natural setting and is specifically dedicated to man’s relationship with the horse.

In addition to daily driving, clinicians and vendors are available for everyone. There are marked trails and timed events and plenty of time to just enjoy the fall beauty of the Kentucky Horse Park.
